I’ve got a really simple and fun tutorial for you!
All you need for this easy tutorial is super chunky / bulky / jumbo yarn, a crochet hook, superglue and a foam wreath. After that, you can add whatever beautiful embellishments you want!
So grab your materials, and watch the video below to find out how I did it.
How do I find you again I want to study it so I’m not someone that could shave for nits so I would like to study it so I can make one for myself
Hi from the UK!!!
I cannot find the chunky yarn you have used over here but can you tell me the mm of the yarn you used? I’m hoping I can use something similar….. thank you in advance xxxx
Thank you Rebecca for sharing this tutorial! Followed along as you did it – you are a great instructor! Benefited from the trouble shooting advice as my hook did accidently come out. And yes, it was in the wrong way. Thank you again!
Where can this type of yarn be purchased? Brand? How chunky ? Thanks.
As I mentioned in the video, I used Chunky Knit, a jumbo sized yarn from Yarn Bee (Hobby Lobby).
Hi Rebecca Can you tell me how many skeins of hobby lobby yarn I need to make the wreath?
Wondering if the yarn is white or ivory? Can’t decide on color! Thank you.
Ivory 🙂
I can’t get the video to play.
It was probably just your connection at the time. The video is hosted on YouTube, so unless YouTube is down, it’s usually a connectivity issue.
Is there no written pattern for the wreath?
It would just say “slip stitch around the wreath.” 🙂 It’s really more of a technique than an actual pattern.
Love this; just made my first one. Rebecca, how did you attach the ornaments?
I tied the string of the ornament around one of the threads of yarn at the top, and for the stars, I used craft gorilla glue 🙂
Thank you so much for your creative and beautiful patterns and ideas! Made some cute pumpkins and now gonna try the wreath❤️
Can’t get your video to play. Are you having a problem with the website?
Not that I know of 🙂
Hi there. I love this wreath and would love to be able to do it but have never been able to follow a video. Do you have a written pattern?
Love your work!!
Hi Kerry! It’s not really a pattern, it’s a technique. The pattern would just say “slip stitch around the wreath.” 🙂 It’s just that when you’re slip stitching around something that big, with big chunky yarn, it doesn’t feel natural so it’s hard to fee like you’re doing it right; that’s why I demonstrated on video.
Thanks so much. I will give it a try!
Did the one skein showing do the whole wreath?
Thanks, Linda
It only used about half the skein 🙂
You could make smaller versions of these wreaths in purple & white to use as advent candle bases.
What a great idea!
Would you please explain on your videos that this is right-handed? I have been crocheting for years, but a newbie might be confused. I would be pointing the hook the opposite direction to start, for doing this left-handed.
Thank you for the reminder!

Hi Rebecca! The skein I am looking at is 43 yards (super chunky). Based upon your response above, do you think this will take 20 yards??!!
Hi Maria! Unfortunately there’s no way for me to advise you on that, because as I said, it’s going to vary widely based on whatever yarn you use ?
I like this chunky yarn idea! I’m looking forward to finding some chunky yarn to make this. Thank you.
Just watched the video! Can’t wait to do this. Thanks so much!❤️
Where did you find the “believe” metal ornament?
Yes and the stars LOL
Hi ladies! Both the “believe” ornament and the stars were from Hobby Lobby during last holiday season, so I’m not sure if they will be there or not this year. The stars, I spray painted with a metallic paint. 🙂
About how much chunky yarn did you use? Love the wreath…….easy holiday decoration!!!
About half the skein, but that’s going to vary widely based on whatever yarn you use 🙂
