Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

Yarn + Chai (“we” or “us”) runs yarnandchai.com (the “Site”), where we share crochet patterns, tutorials and blog posts. This policy explains what information we collect on the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have a Yarn + Chai membership or use our app, the members Privacy Policy covers those.

What we collect

  • Your email address, only if you give it to us, for example when you sign up for our newsletter or to get a free pattern.
  • Anything you send us, if you email us.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit, we and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you here, your general location, and the ads you see or click.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Cookies are used on the Site for two purposes:

  • Advertising, to show ads, including ads that may be relevant to you, and to measure how they perform.
  • Analytics, to help us understand how the Site is used.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Parts of the Site may not work as well if you do.

Advertising

CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Raptive’s data usage, click here: https://raptive.com/creator-advertising-privacy-statement

Raptive and its advertising partners may collect information about your activity on the Site and on other websites over time, and use it to show you ads.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how the Site is used. It gathers information through cookies and gives us reports about visits. You can read Google’s privacy policy, and you can opt out with Google’s browser add-on.

Our newsletter

We use your email address to send you what you signed up for, along with new patterns and occasional news about Yarn + Chai products and memberships. Every email has an unsubscribe link, so you can leave at any time.

We keep your address with Brevo, the service we use to send email. We do not sell your email address.

Other services on our pages

  • YouTube. Some posts link to or show YouTube videos. YouTube may set cookies when you watch one, and Google’s privacy policy covers that.
  • Affiliate links. Some links to products are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, and the affiliate network may use a cookie to record that you came from the Site.
  • Bunny Fonts. The Site’s fonts load from Bunny Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to deliver them.
  • Our website host keeps standard logs of visits to the Site.

How we share information

We share information only as this policy describes: with the services named above, when the law requires it, and if the Site or the business is sold or transferred, in which case the information we hold may go with it.

Some US state laws call the use of advertising cookies a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. The advertising described above is the only way that happens on the Site.

Your choices and rights

  • Stop our emails with the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • See, correct or delete what we hold about you by emailing us at the address below.
  • Control cookies in your browser settings.

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. The Site does not change what it does in response to that signal.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your personal information, and you can use any of them by emailing us. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to restrict how it is processed, and you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any change on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will also say so on the Site or by email.
